I work for d.g. my boss is great and we all have fun at work. A typical day at my store is on truck day if gets there early enough we start on it if not the next day we get started. wE CAN USUALLY GET IT DONE IN two days. I usually run the register and work on totes. then at 5 i start to recover our store is pretty clean and in order our boss and the rest of us believe in having a clean and organized store our customers seem to appreciate that as well.
How do you get totes done when you're ringing people out all the time? When I work, our store only has me and one other person working and I'm the only cashier. EVERY SINGLE TIME I try to walk to a tote to put stuff out, a customer will walk up to get rang out.
It frustrates me and stresses me out because I can't get anything else done, but I know it's 'expected' of me. But as the only one ringing people, and the 3rd key YELLING my name across the store to let me know someone is at the register, it irritates the crap out of me.
I'm making minimum wage as a cashier, I wasn't hired to be a stock person and I can't be half way to the back of the store and see or hear people at the register, so HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?
I'm seriously confused by the intelligence of a company that expects their cashier to be able to be standing at the register the second a customer walks up, but I'm also supposed to be all over the store, not even close to it, stocking the shelves, all at the same time....
